A One-day Chamber Music Workshop for Adults
POSTPONED
The day will focus on Beethoven String Quartet, Op.18 No.6. The aim of the workshop will be to offer both pre-formed quartets and individuals an introductory exploration of the piece, with the possibility of further ongoing coaching if desired.
We will focus on exploration of musical themes within the quartet and communication skills in rehearsal and performance. Participants will gain a flavour of this wonderful work with the security of multiple players per part, and learn new techniques which they can then put into practice during their own post-workshop rehearsals. This is also the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded musicians with a view to forming new groups together. Time permitting, we will aim to run through in smaller groups so that we can experience the more intimate communication within a string quartet.

What others have enjoyed about previous workshops:
I re-learned the enjoyment of chamber music with no pressure
The arrangements were very non-threatening, nobody noticed if you left out the odd semi-quaver. It was a very friendly atmosphere and lovely to have a cup of coffee in the middle
[I enjoyed] playing through the music as a group. I liked we had multiple people per part. The atmosphere was great
