Who is this workshop suitable for?
This is a multi-level workshop which is suitable for complete beginners (playing only open strings) up to around Grade 1 standard.
Workshop Content
This workshop is open to complete beginners and is designed to give a relaxed, fun first string orchestra experience. We know that young learners need as much encouragement as they can get when pursuing the skill of learning a stringed instrument and the earlier that they can enjoy the social experience of playing together, the more fun they can have and the more likely they are to succeed in their musical journey.
Participants need only have had a few lessons on their instrument and will be able to play only on open strings and/or with fingers, plucking only or with the bow. The building blocks of playing music; pulse, rhythm, pitch and good posture will be presented in a fun and creative way with lots of musical games and activities to keep our minds focused. Young players will realise that they are already competent musicians!
This workshop is open to any age of participant (under 18) and is aimed at players of Grade 0 – 1 level.
